Rest assured that this is necessary in order for us to ensure that we are meeting your requirements exactly, as well as to ensure that our language providers have all the necessary information to better perform their translations.

We declare that, as the administrator of your personal data, that we comply with all legal obligations required by applicable law, in particular the Personal Data Protection Act and the GDPR, and that we will:

RETENTION OF DATA FOR TRANSLATION PURPOSES

We will retain your Personal Data only for as long as is necessary for the purposes set out in this Privacy Policy. We will retain and use your Personal Data to the extent necessary to comply with our legal obligations (for example, if we are required to retain your data to comply with applicable laws), resolve disputes, and enforce our legal agreements and policies.

We will also retain Usage Data for internal analysis purposes. Usage Data is generally retained for a shorter period of time, except when this data is used to strengthen the security or to improve the functionality of our Service, or we are legally obligated to retain this data for longer time periods.

We collect vendors’ personal details for business purposes. Personal information may include but is not limited to:

Personal information may also be collected for providing feedback reports to our customers about tasks we are carrying out for them, i.e. for the performance of a contract.

The Vendor acknowledges that we only require personal data collected for the purposes outlined in this Privacy Policy. We will not take any responsibility for personal data provided by the Vendor outside the requested and permitted range of personal data, we will not process such personal data, will not independently notify the Vendor such personal data had been provided and will delete such personal data, its operations permitting.

 

RETENTION OF DATA FOR MARKETING PURPOSES:

 

  • Newsletters:

If you are a customer and you have provided your consent to receive marketing messages by subscribing to our newsletter.  We use your personal information (e-mail and name) to send you business-related messages. We reasonably believe that you are interested in our news and tips and blogs about the foreign language industry. We will send you business-related messages for a period of 5 years after you gave us your consent. Your consent, effective May 25th 2018, will be expressed by the so-called Double opt-in confirmation. This acknowledgement is a clear expression of your consent with the processing of your personal information.

If you are not a customer and you have provided your consent to receive marketing messages or applied to work with us as a language professional, by subscribing to our newsletter, or to our freelancer application, for a period of 5 years after your consent. Your consent will be expressed by the so-called Double opt-in confirmation (via Mailchimp marketing platform or via email communication for freelancer applications). This acknowledgment is a clear expression of your consent with the processing of your personal information.

Whether you are a customer or not, you can revoke your consent by using an opt-out link in each email you receive from us or unsubscribe via email to info@lingo-star.com if you’re a freelancer.

  • Advanced marketing:

We may also send you third-party offers for remarketing, for a period of 5 years after you gave your explicit consent. Of course, this can be revoked at any time by using an opt-out link in each email you receive from us.

  • Cookies:

When you visit our website, we record your IP address, how long you stay on the page and from which page you come from. Using cookies to measure site traffic and customizing your site views is perceived as a legitimate interest because we believe we can offer you even better services.
Ads targeting cookies will only be processed based on your consent.

All LingoStar language providers (translators, editors, voice artists and other language professionals) are bound by a confidentiality and corporate non-disclosure agreement. Personal and corporate data is not revealed to them unless it’s included in the text for translation. We use secure servers and firewalls to ensure that data is not lost or stolen.

LingoStar team members follow strict internal guidelines regarding clients’ confidentiality and privacy protection.

 

ANALYTICS

We may use third-party Service Providers to monitor and analyze the use of our Service.

Google Analytics

Google Analytics is a web analytics service offered by Google that tracks and reports website traffic. Google uses the data collected to track and monitor the use of our service. This data is shared with other Google services. Google may use the collected data to contextualize and personalize the ads of its own advertising network.
