Armenian – Հայաստան

Armenian is the official language of the Republic of Armenia and is spoken by approximately 7 million people.

Its origin is Indo-European and it does not belong to any other language family. Its dialects are Western, which is originally associated with the Ottoman Empire, and Eastern which is originally associated with the Russian Empire.

One interesting fact is that three quarters of the total population of Armenia live in other countries such as Russia, US, Turkey and more. Those who live in foreign countries speak at least three languages. This is why Armenians are known to be multilingual.
